FASHIONS OF THE FIELD
Fashions of the field showcase the glamour and style that is synonymous with country racing. At the Burrandowan Picnic Races you will be given the opportunity to present youre finest in trackside fashion! Fashions on the Field offers entrants the chance to flaunt their racing style and win some fantastic prizes, worth over $1,000. Prizes are awarded in the best-dressed lady, best-dressed gentleman, best-dressed couple, and group categories, with winners selected by a panel expert judges. HOW TO ENTER Visit the registration desk at the racetrack between 11:00am and 12:00pm on Race Day. The registration desk will be located next to the staging area at the main hall. When you register you will be issued a registration number and tag that must be displayed at all times until the winners of each category has been announced. You will be informed of the assembly point to meet at prior to each categorys judging. There is no charge for entering. FASHION TIMES REGISTRATION 11.00AM - 12.00PM All entrants are to register in person at the registration desk at the racetrack between 11:00am and 12:00pm on Race Day. The registration deck is located next to the staging area at the main hall. BEST DRESSED GROUP CATEGORY 2:10PM All participants for this category must be at the Fashions On The Field assembly point by no later than 2:05pm. Entrants who have not presented themselves after their final call will forfeit their place in the competition. BEST DRESSED LADY, BEST DRESSED GENTLEMAN & BEST DRESSED COUPLE CATEGORIES 3:50PM All participants for these categories must be at the Fashions On The Field assembly point by no later than 3:40pm. Entrants who have not presented themselves after their final call will forfeit their place in the competition. PHOTOS Winners of each category will be photographed with the sponsor. JUDGING CRITERA Judges will base their votes on contestants who are dressed appropriately for Country Racing, with individual style and understanding of current fashion trends. Contestants must be dressed in keeping with the weather, glamour and style of Australian Country Racing. Women: Hat or headpiece is compulsory Attention to detail with all aspects of accessories such as shoes, handbag and jewellery Understanding and interpretation of the current fashion trends dress with flare and originality. Deportment and grooming Suitability of the outfit for the climate and setting. Men: Suit or Jacket and tie essential Attention to detail with all aspects of accessories such as gentlemens hat and coordinating colour choices Understanding and interpretation of the current fashion trends dress with flare and originality. Deportment and grooming Suitability of the outfit for the climate and setting Couple: Suit or jacket and tie and Hat or headpiece is essential Attention to detail with all aspects of accessories Coordination and complementary aspects of couples attire Deportment and grooming Suitability of the outfits for the climate and setting Group: Consistent theme throughout attire for group Minimum 3 and Maximum 8 people within each group Deportment and grooming RULES All entrants for Fashions on the Field on Race Day must register at the registration desk by 12.00pm on the day. Only registered entrants with their assigned registration number will be able to compete in the judging. If an entrant loses their assigned registration number, they will not be able to continue with the competition. Entrants must be present at the staging area in front of the main hall at their nominated times for judging. A call will be made over the loud speakers to announce each category. If an entrant has not presented themselves by the allotted time, one call will be made over the loud speaker and the entrants will have another 5 minutes to present themselves. If they fail to present themselves they will automatically forfeit their place. Winners of the Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Gentlemen and the Couple categories of the competition are ineligible to win in the same category in the following years competition. |
