| You've heard about the great time to be had - so why not join us and treat yourslelf to a day of true bush racing and country hospitality.
Don't miss any of the action at this fabulous race day in the bush . Head out early for the Clay Target shoot starting at 9 am. By the time the first race begins at 1pm, you will have already made new friends and set up your position for the day with old ones. We have a full 5 race program with 2 state betting and a full bookies ring. Like any great race day, we have plenty of off the track entertainment too - when you have tired of people watching (keep your eyes peeled for the sporting celebs who come every year), and take a stroll to watch the Fashion of the Field competition. This year judges will be walking around the grounds finding suitably attired people for the three categories of Best Dressed Man, Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Couple. Why not enter yourself - check out the details under the Fashions of the Field tab here on the website. Watch the entrants parade in front of the crowd for judging, for prizes worth over $3,000. Between races 3 and 4, watch for the famous Burrandowan Fashion Parade The fashion parade will be held on the stage from the veranda of the hall - be part of the fun and see what's new in fashion for winter and support our local models on the day. Make sure you sample the range of food available - from picnic hampers and race day lunches to fabulous rib fillet burgers and sandwiches. Our caterers are all local charities - people raising money for their great causes - the local chaplaincy committee supporting the youth, Lions, Rotary and more. At the bar, you will find the local P&C members hard at work - ensuring your drinks are served at just the right temperature and right price - make sure you visit the wine bar and check out he great Burrandowan Merchandise, too - caps, jackets and more. Even our cleaners are volunteers - the local Guides group raising fund for the girls of the district. As Burrandowan is situated 66kms west of Kingaroy, you will find plenty of area in a great bushland setting to camp. So weather you have a caravan, tent or the back of your ute, you will be very comfortable along with all the other race goers. There is free camping and showers available, so get planning early to get a good spot and be part of the excitement. So onto the night - entertainment this year will include local band 'Too Ezy'. It will kick off after the last race on the verandah of the hall which will be in a prime position to the bar area, so that you can dance under the stars. We all know it wouldn't be Burrandowan without the pit fire BBQ. Beautiful tender T Bone and rump steaks along with sausages will be for sale for you to cook to perfection, so bring along your BBQ tools. If you haven’t tried this part of our great race day before, make sure you do this year. |
| We will have local band "Too Easy" kicking off after the last race until late. |
